Swimming is a great sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, fitness levels and backgrounds. If you are lucky enough to learn to swim at an early age, you will be even better off. By learning when you are a small child, you are able to conquer fears much easier than as an adult, and sometimes, you won’t even develop the fears at all. Depending on at what age you learn, and what your ultimate goal is in the world of swimming, your training will be very different. Swim teachers and coaches are tasked with finding the best way to relate to their students and developing a teaching style that fits each students needs and learning styles.

There are many opportunities now for small children to learn to swim. Classes are offered at community pools, health clubs and even some schools. You also have the option of teaching your own children if you yourself are a strong swimmer. Swim lessons have come a long way from the “sink or swim” theory of years past. Teachers are now realizing that that approach may make things worse not better by instilling an innate fear of water in the young child. There are all sorts of apparatus’s such as arms floats and inner tubes for children to become accustomed to the water. We can now take more of a training wheel approach to swim lessons, allowing them to get comfortable and learn in a safe environment.

If you are learning to swim as an adult or older child and will be competing in competitions, your training will look a bit different. On top of learning the basic moves, your coach will need to work with you in order to develop stronger muscles. Depending on what type of strokes you will do, they may focus entirely on your upper body muscles or may lend some of the focus to your lower body and leg muscles. You will be doing repetitive laps to build up endurance and may be practicing each stroke for around 20 minutes to build your strength. Some coaches even place items in the water that you must swim under in order to practice diving into the pool.

Whatever you choose to do with your swimming knowledge, being in the water is an experience like no other. It is a wonderful way to stay in shape, stay healthy and have a ton of fun while you are at it.

A guided meditation from the Carriers of Light

Let your desires float by you. Let yourself ease into a relaxed state of mind. Let your body relax; let your bones sink into the muscles around them. Let your bones move around. Feel the muscles soften around them. Let your mind come to a point of stillness. Let your thoughts no longer be busy with themselves. Let yourself feel a oneness with all of your parts.

Then feel freshness; feel as though you are in a garden. Above you is the sun – not just an ordinary light, but the sun of your consciousness, that which lights your awareness. Feel the warmth of this light, of this conscious sense of light, how it feels to be warm. Everything that you are is in this consciousness. You are this light. Let yourself feel this heat. Your thoughts are light, your feelings are light. This light is what you are, and it pours itself into you.

Then sense your awareness changing as you shift into a higher gear. Notice your vibrations changing. The new being that is you is now forming where the old being was. What you are now is your self, its newness forming around you within your consciousness. What you once were is now larger than it was… that’s all that happened. Sense this awareness as you grow larger in your consciousness. Become aware of the smaller parts of yourself. Feel yourself pulling toward things. Sense something, let yourself remember something that happened today, something you wanted. Notice how it feels to become aware of this. You’ll notice a physical sensation, something happening to you; you may find a muscle twitching, a sensation like this, a pulling toward the thing you remember. As you explore this further, you find that if you hold this in your consciousness – if you let yourself just hang on a little, “freeze” the idea – you may find that you can expand the energy. You can move to a higher plane of reality by using this energy as a focal point. Then you begin to see what you are. You can expand your frequencies, the meaning of your consciousness, how you see yourself at the new frequency levels. By focusing on something lower, you reach something higher. It’s like a stepping stone. Becoming aware of lower conscious thoughts brings you higher if you use it in this way.

Now focus again on something you once desired. Hold it in your consciousness, let it rest there. See it clearly for what it is: something that is just there. Now that you are apart from it, can you believe that it once held you so tightly in its grip? By separating yourself from it, you loosen its hold. By seeing it as a form of energy, you can keep it at a distance. The more you see it this way, at a slight distance from yourself, the less it holds you. Do not struggle against it: simply hold it there and remain aware of it.

Soften your consciousness, let it loosen, let yourself feel loose and relaxed. Feel yourself sensing life. How does it feel to be alive? How does it feel to be conscious? How does it feel to be in the world? See what happens when you let these ideas come to you. They take over! If you think of stress, stress takes over; if you think of your worries, your worries take over. By learning to detach, you will not be affected so much by this.

So learn to relax sometimes. As you are relaxing, think about the stresses of the world. See how they take over only a part of yourself, and how there is still a part that is unaffected by any of this. You are this consciousness, as well as the part of you that is affected. Even if the world is getting you down, a part of you is unaffected, it is not worried by anything. When you achieve more of that consciousness, you will be unaffected more of the time, and so you will be more even.

Now let yourself relax again. Sense your consciousness coming back. You’ll be getting up in a moment. Sense what happens when you tell yourself that you are going to get up. Notice how busy your thoughts become. Notice the difference between one state of mind and the other. Growth happens when you see this difference; at each new level of growth, you see a difference. Things grow and change. You are also a growing thing. Thus, if you have been hurt in the past you will grow out of it; problems of the past will become smaller as you grow. The things you used to be attached to will become less significant in relation to the higher wonders of the universe that you will find inside yourself.

You may now get up and return to where you were before we began. You know more now than you did before.

In a Nutshell

You are in a garden under the warm sun of consciousness.

As you grow larger, your old self seems smaller.

Visualize something you want. You see it pulling to you like a magnet.

Focus on this thing mentally, and hold it away from you.

Notice that whatever you think of seems to take over your mind.

Notice also that there is always a part of you that is separate.As you grow, this separate part of you becomes larger

and the problems of the world appear smaller.

You find the higher wonders of the universe within you,

and the things that you were attached to seem less important.

People are paying $ 30 to $ 60 for small beat and and sound packages, $ 50 to $ 100 for small loopsets and beatsets, $ 100 to $ 300 for Instrumentals, $ 100’s to $ 1,000’s for complete tracks and samples, and for the few lucky ones like Jay-Z and J D… “Money aint a Thing”! They sell millions of their cd’s. There are thousands of people and even companies looking for new music everyday! Let them hear yours!

Whether you dream of Making It Big in the Music Industry, or are just interested in making some extra cash doing what you love, this article is for you. You will see the resources you need to make your own beats, loops, instrumentals, finished tracks, and complete demo cd’s. You will also see the resources you need to make money doing it. With that being said, let’s get to the part you are waiting for…

Part I: Make Your Own Beats, Instrumentals, Samples, Loops, Tracks, and Complete Demo CDs…

To do this, you will need a few things. First you will need recording studio software. Recording studio software is nothing more than a program that allows you to mix beats, melodies, chords, samples and loops to make your own customized instrumentals and tracks. They also allow you to record yourself as you sing or rap to your track and to make a copy of your tracks to cd.

You can find this type of software all over the Internet. Just do a search for “make your own beats” or “recording studio software”. As you search, you will notice that on average, this type of software will run you between $ 50 and $ 200. Don’t Buy Them (you’ll see why shortly)! Now you’re going to need beats, melodies, chords, samples, and loops to customize with your recording studio software, aka: soundsets and loopsets. Again, just do a search for “beats” or “loops”. They usually come in packages of about 200 soundsets for $ 30 and 300 loopsets for $ 60, or 600 soundsets for $ 75 and 900 loopsets for $ 150. Don’t Buy Them Either!

Alright, so at the minimum, $ 140 gets you the low-end studio software, 200 soundsets, and 300 loopsets… or if you want a little better quality studio software and more soundsets and loopsets, you can spend about $ 425 for high-end studio software, 600 soundsets, and 900 loopsets. That’s everything you need to make your own beats, instrumentals, samples, loops, tracks, and complete demo cd’s. But why did I say Don’t Buy Them?

Because you can get it all, the studio software and over 1,100 soundsets and loopsets for under 30 bucks with Hip Hop Starz Record Producer and Mixer Studio (see “about the author” at the bottom of this article). This is an unheard of price for everything you need, and it is of such good quality, I have dedicated an entire page of my Snoop Dogg website to it. It is loaded with many features you will find on the high-end software selling for $ 100 or more. Also, they are currently holding a Win A Record Contract Contest with Doug E Fresh. So now you know how to make your own beats, instrumentals, samples, loops, tracks, and even complete demo cd’s, and this brings us to our next part…

Part II: Make Money Doing It…

There are many, many ways to make money with your own music. The first thing you need to do, though, is break it down into pieces, or components we will call them.

There are 4 key components to any track, or song. You have soundsets, which are nothing more than beats, sounds, scratches, etc. You have loopsets, which are your soundsets when put together in a loop. You have instrumentals, which are completed tracks with no voice or lyrics. Finally, you have completed tracks, which are basically just instrumentals that include lyrics.

When you look at music from this angle, broken down into components, you will start to see many ways to make money with your own. Like I mentioned at the beginning of this report, people are not only paying for completed tracks, they are also paying for the components individually. If you can create you own, good components, people will buy them.

Again, search the Internet for these components. Doing so will not only show you how much you can sell your components for, but also where you can sell them. As long as people are listening to music, there will always be a demand for it, and I can’t see people stopping anytime soon.

Effects of Early Learning

According to a new report, experiencing high quality child care as a young child can yield dividends when that child becomes a teenager. The study found that child care and preschool programs that provide language, reading, and problem solving activities provide benefits that last well into adolescence.

Early child care educators have known for years that the skills learned in early childhood settings could provide children with the cornerstones needed for the development of later academic skills in the primary grades. But Deborah Lowe Vandell, a professor and chairwoman of the department of education at the University of California, Irvine, who was the lead author on the paper being published by the journal Child Development, says that the effects of early childhood education did not fade away.

Quite the contrary; findings suggest that the quality of care early in life outside of the home continues to affect children more than a decade afterward. This study was launched by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (www.nichd.nih.gov) in 1991 and followed over 1000 children for 15 years. What they found specifically is that teenagers who had high-quality child care performed significantly better academically than those given low-quality or no care outside the home. Moreover, teens who were in high-quality settings before age 5 reported fewer acting-out behaviors than peers who were in lower-quality child care arrangements during their early years. It is important to point out that parents have far more influence on their child’s growth and development than the type of child care they receive.

In this study, high-quality care was defined as an environment in which caregivers/teachers were warm, engaged, and sensitive to a child’s needs, and provided cognitive stimulation through language-rich lessons and activities that addressed problem solving skills.
